My laptops just died and fried my back up hard drive, erasing an album I had been working on for over a year. Written at the end of a week of great transition. I sat at the death bed of my dear Nana, to whom I was told to say goodbye. She amazingly made it through an impossible operation at 92 yet I grieved her death then and there as she smiled back at me, fearless.

I'm grieving
All these things that you’ll never know
Winters leaving
But somewhere it begins to snow

And I’m feeling all
Of you, and us
And I never did learn quite how to give you all my trust

Hide it all away so you can start again
With you or without
High in the morning
Tired in the evening
Doesn’t seem a reason to cry

Did you need a song, to get you on board with me?
Did you need a house,
Somewhere to get you from nowhere to now.

I’m leaving and I’m walking home in bare feet
I’m grieving such a beautiful end to a heavy week

Memories are fading better look at them
With you or without
Because I don’t know my friends
I don’t know my doubts
